About Students For America First

Students For America First is a student organization at The University of Alabama. Their description, from The Source, a web service hosted for student organizations at The University of Alabama, reads:

Students for America First is an organization dedicated to the recognition & preservation of the American ideals of self-determination, individual liberty, and constitutionally-bound democratic government as absolute necessities for prosperity. This organization and its members hold that the citizens of The United States of America are the true keepers of our governments' power and legitimacy, and that this is the foundational truth of our social contract that must not be forgotten.

Students for America First upholds these principles by fostering an environment where discussion among group members dealing with the challenges American and Western ideals face in our country and the world today is encouraged, not silenced. This discussion plays out in our members' everyday lives as students here on campus, in the various events we coordinate, and all of our efforts of membership accruement. Put America First.

Students for America First operates several social media accounts, including one on "free speech" social media site Gab, which has been profiled in Salon as "Twitter for racists."

An archived copy of the Students For America First Twitter account includes a since-deleted tweet from March 29th reading "If Leftists use intimidation to win, why can't we #AmericaFirst". Their Gab account includes tweets like a screenshot of a Whitehouse petition to "Declare George Soros a terrorist".

Members

Not all members of Students for America First are very forthcoming about their membership. Their faculty advisor, Dr. Bruce Barret, stepped down in the wake of the invitation of Jared Taylor to speak on campus.

Dr. Bruce Barrett has stepped down from his role as Faculty Advisor of the University of Alabama's Students for America First. He was not fully informed of Jared Taylor's polarizing statements on race and identity. Students for America First wishes Dr. Barrett all the best.
